Tartuffe provides interesting incite into human nature, such as the relationship between Tartuffe and Dorine. Tartuffe is clearly a hypocrite in this (as the title suggests), one example being that he clearly blames others for his own faults rather than taking responsibility for his own actions, however it can also be seen that he allows himself to be tempted into impiety.As it is, I do not wish to give too much away of the book as it does have an interesting twist near the end that left me surprised.
I've read this book a few times and have listened to a recording of the play (in English) a few times, as well. It's definitely my favorite of his works and I recommend it. If you're a fan of Shakespeare, then you'll either really enjoy it or you'll hate it. Besides, as of writing this review, the book is still free for the Kindle, so give it a shot!

Read this for lit class. Thoroughly enjoyed the sarcasm. Snarkiness at its best. Liked it more than most of the required reading. I would recommend this story.
This is the non-rhyming version of the play. If you are looking for the GOOD translation, this isn't it. Sorry, but you may have to spend money to get the rhyming version.
i had to read this for class. as mentioned in another review, i don't suggest this for a college class due to the lack of traditional page numbers. also, the version was completely different from my required reading. the original story wasn't in english. therefore, there are several translations and edited versions. however, the basics of the story are all still here and it is a good (free kindle) book!
I choose this rating because it came in a timely manner and is a good book for me to have.
I like this product because I needed it for class and it did it's job.
